bullet

The Rotax 912 ULS when fitted to the CH-7B is de-rated to about 95 HP by maintaining lower than max permitted RPM.

bullet

Engine power is controlled by continually referencing a Manifold Pressure Gauge (MAP)

bullet

The Robinson R22 utilises a carb temp probe to reference when heated air is required to prevent carb icing and subsequent engine failure. Click here.

bullet

As the two Bing carbs fitted to the Rotax 912 ULS  have no provision to fit a probe to measure when icing might occur, the CH-7B has been fitted with a SKYDRIVE anti-ice system

bullet

The SKYDRIVE system works by continuously circulating hot water through an alloy block close to the carb butterfly and preventing ice from adhering to the carb.

bullet

In Australia, icing is a concern due the combination of humidity and warm weather and the system is permanently operating on the CH-7B to reduce pilot icing concerns

Rotor Research has Rotax 912 ULS twin carb SKYDRIVE kits in stock @ $A310 (includes GST)
